Future Perfect Continuous


The Future Perfect Continuous is used when we imagine ourselves looking back from a time in the future.

          A. FORM

          Positive 
Subject + will + have + been + V - ing + ...
-----------------------------------
I / We / You / They / He / She / It     will   have   been   reading the book.

          Negative 
Subject + will not + have + been + V - ing + ...
-----------------------------------
I / We / You / They / He / She / It     will  not     have    been    reading the book.

          Question
Will + Subject + have + been V - ing + ...?
-----------------------------------
Will     I / we / you / they / he / she / It     have   been   reading the book?


          II. USE

          1. We use this form when we imagine ourselves looking back from a time in the future.

                    - It is Mike's party in October. He will have been working here for ten years.
                    - If I manage to finish this book by Friday, I will have been reading it for eight weeks.
                    - Our neighbors are moving soon. They will have been living here a year.
                    - How long will the spaceship have been orbiting the earth?
